Celebrating 15 Years: Christy’s Journey at Panhandle Eye Group

From the file room to a 15-year career

Over the past 15 years, Christy has grown alongside Panhandle Eye Group, turning what began as a job in the file room into a meaningful career filled with new opportunities, lasting friendships and countless memories. When she first joined the practice, she never imagined the job would turn into a 15-year career.

“I remember starting out and having so much to learn,” Christy said. “I started in the file room, and over the years, I had the opportunity to learn so many different parts of ophthalmology and the business side of the practice.”

Growing into a new role

Since then, her role has changed tremendously. After gaining experience throughout the practice, Christy eventually became a POD coordinator. Today, she helps keep daily operations running smoothly by supporting staff members, answering questions, solving problems and stepping in wherever she is needed.

Learning through communication and teamwork

Although no two days are exactly the same, Christy said her experience has taught her the importance of communication, especially when things get busy.

“I’ve learned to stay calm when things get hectic, be willing to listen and understand that we all play different roles but have the same ultimate goal,” she said.

The value of everyday moments

For Christy, some of the most meaningful moments from the past 15 years have not necessarily been the major milestones. Instead, they have been the everyday memories she has made with her coworkers.

“After being here for 15 years, your coworkers become a big part of your life,” she said. “This job has given me some of the greatest friends I have. We truly are a family.”

A workplace that feels like family

That sense of connection, along with the opportunities she has had to grow and continue learning, has kept Christy at Panhandle Eye Group throughout the years.

“Fifteen years goes by quickly when you truly love your job and the people you work for and with,” she said.

Looking ahead

As she looks toward the future, Christy is excited to continue growing in her role, learning new things and seeing what comes next for Panhandle Eye Group.
