From the Automotive Industry to the Heart of HR

Five years ago, Sabrina left a 20-year career in the automotive industry for an unfamiliar path—one that would soon place people at the center of her work.

A New Industry and a Fresh Start

When Sabrina joined Panhandle Eye Group, she brought decades of professional experience with her, but the eye care industry was entirely new territory.

“I was extremely nervous,” Sabrina said. “I was coming from the automotive industry, where I had spent the last 20 years, so I was nervous and excited to jump into a different industry.”

That decision opened the door to a new career and an opportunity to discover where her skills could make the greatest difference.

From HR Assistant to Director

Sabrina began as an HR assistant before advancing into her current position as human resources director.

Today, she oversees the organization’s HR strategy, helps enforce companywide policies and ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations. Her responsibilities also include managing pay structures, benefit programs and performance systems, along with onboarding new employees.

When workplace concerns arise, Sabrina helps resolve disputes, mediate conflicts and guide those involved toward a solution. Each responsibility contributes to her larger goal of maintaining a positive environment across Panhandle Eye Group.

The Value of an Open Door

At the center of Sabrina’s work is her availability to employees and management. Some situations call for resources or practical answers, while others simply require someone willing to listen.

“I enjoy being a resource for employees and management,” she said. “Whether it is just being an ear when someone needs to vent or helping find the resources and means to solve an issue, I am there to help.”

That connection to others is one reason Sabrina has remained with Panhandle Eye Group.

“The opportunity to be part of a great organization has kept me here,” she said.

A Front-Row Seat to What Comes Next

After five years, Sabrina is excited to continue contributing as Panhandle Eye Group enters its next chapter.

“I’m looking forward to watching and being part of the growth that is taking place and seeing what the future holds,” she said.
